Broken Bench is a duo consisting of Paolo Gatti, composer and electronic musician and Maya Pong Rasmussen, vocalist and trumpet player. The duo started messing around and experimenting with different sounds and musical approaches in 2018 and are now going to release their first Album with the label Folderol (Kappabit Music) in Autumn 2021. Broken Bench premiered their new Album in Italy and abroad during the second half of 2019. The atmosphere evoked by Broken Bench comes from the vocal and instrumental harmonies, both from logic linked sampling along with the lyrical stories in Maya’s three native languages. The vocal and trumpet parts are played and sung by Maya, counterpointing with the electronic textures designed by Paolo which creates a wide-ranged music form that links well-defined musical structures and improvised sections.
